The rant

I almost feel like the end of the road is what a big bite of Delicious is…in so many technologically inclined hearts. Well I mean Delicious is not fun and exciting. It is not the strawberry shortcake with extra whip cream that I love so much nor is it the good heartfelt drama that I like to strain my eyes reading. It is just that dull fickler of yester year that we once identified and raved about as “forthcoming” technology. To say the least it is packed with considerations…and not executions of thoughtful bookmarking and exploration.
Moreover…Who put that “D” in the iigo?
Courage is the ability to explore appreciate and extend a deadline you had for yourself to acknowledge the sticky note feature of Diigo and to use your since of accomplishment by highlighting the exacerbated comments of one “Wired” guru.
Overall my experience is an all American point of view chuck the boring out dated cumbersome less than Delicious and put a Ding …in your Diigo!
I did in fact enjoy using Diigo and I think I will use my Evernote and Diigo together for a happy marriage of information and accessibility. The common complaint most of us have is the “Diigo” add-ons. Why do certain software or application developers think it is okay for us to bombard our hard drives with their interpretations of “valued” software applications….or toolbars?
Come on….give me what I want and keep your free junk…If I wanted it I would have selected that for download….
Okay, so perhaps this is my modern day rant on and off subject but, someone has to whale about it!!! Speak up America and tell them ______NO MORE! KEEP YOUR CRAPPY APPS AND TOOLBARS!

HAHHAHA…okay off to see the wizard I go to get the application “a heart”! See ya soon!

Second life is flying High!

Well..well..well another life...hummmmmm...

I do declare!

I have arrived! The tower is a rock'N but, there was no one there. :-(

I thought I might run in to some of my classmates but, I didn't. I think it would be cool to have a conference in Secondlife. I mean you don't have to leave your home and you can dress for success without having to shop for hours. Well, maybe if you are not me. I had a hard time trying to get my avatar's clothes changed. I kept trying different things but, they all looked crazy. I think there should be a closet that you can go in and try on outfits.

I didn't have a hard time at all figuring out how to get the UCM's campus. I just played around until I found the teleporter. I enjoyed going to the beach the most!

A final thought… I do not believe Secondlife is a great tool for teaching kids in general as there is too much going on and there are sexrooms and nudist islands. I know the world is full of all kinds of things but, I just do not think it is a place where a child should be. I would also like to say that some of the chat that goes on is NOT appropriate for anyone…Except adults who want to participate. So, I have listed below some of the interesting places I have found to teach or take your kiddos!

Apps for living!

A is for APPLE…B is for Ball and C is for Crazy….cuz I do not have an Iphone 

I know my “C” is a little out of context here but in some ways I am left in the dust or dark…depending on what you prefer. I mean in our everyday lives we are texting, googling, and facebooking all the time but, what about the apps? I mean apps, apps, and more apps…are all over the place.

Well, maybe not for some of us who to do not own and Iphone or an Andorid but, for those “smart”

enough to purchase “smartphone” you are rolling in the knowledge!
I am sitting here thinking of all of the educational investments I have made throughout my life and feel like I could have had more fun if I had a smartphone.
I mean in my:
Search for colleges I could have used these for testing:

1. SAT Vocab Challenge
2. Kaplan TOEFL Vocabulary Flashcards
3. Math Ref
Medical Assistant program I could have used the following:
1. Netter’s Anatomy Flash Cards
2. BrainPOP for Health
3. Molecules 3D
4. LabTimer
Associates Degree in Visual Communications I could have used these:
1. Adobe Photoshop
2. Brushes
3. SketchBook Mobile
4. QuintessArt

Bachelors’ Degree in Technical Management I could have used these:
1. iHomework
2. Cheap Textbooks Price Search
3. FrostWire
4. Cole's Calculus Review
5. Formulas Lite
6. Phocabulary
7. Memory Trainer
8. LangLearner Lessons
There are so many useful apps to choose from. I mean all are fun and packet with knowledge. I think that my next step is to explore the price points for phones and service. I am excited to get the new GRE app. I have been using a youtube prep course for the vocabulary but, it would be great to have them on my phone to study at those “special” times we all have…waiting for someone…or something!
